Investing in the Kingdom work at
Athens Community Church
Sometimes we look at giving to the church as a
painful obligation that is a heavy burden to bear,
but I’d like you to look at it in a different light.
We have a chance to invest our money into the
Kingdom Work that is going on here at Athens
Community Church.
ACC has a busy
schedule and the people of ACC are involved in many
ministries! There are Bible studies, small groups,
worship services, kids’ ministry
activities, a high school student ministry, a food
pantry, as well as others. Your giving to ACC is an
investment in the work that is being done and allows
us to prayerfully seek what He has planned for our
future.
Many jump to
the Old Testament concept of tithing when talking
about giving to the Lord’s work. In the OT followers
of God were asked to give 10% of everything they
owned. Tithing isn’t a New Testament concept. Paul
says in 2 Corinthians 9, “Remember this: Whoever
sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever
sows generously will also reap generously. Each of
you should give what you have decided in your heart
to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God
loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you
abundantly, so that in all things at all times,
having all that you need, you will abound in every
good work.”
Tithing is a
great place to start if you’re not giving, but let
the amount grow as you’re able to better invest
financially in the work God is doing in this local
body of believers.
We've provided
this convenient way to give to Athens Community
Church. Thanks for prayerfully taking part in
the work Christ is doing through our church!
